Lyft is adding a benefit offered by Chipotle and Taco Bell to give its drivers discounts on classes  (12/11)

  • Lyft is adding Guild Education as a benefit to its drivers in the US, the company announced Monday.
  • Drivers have access to a free education mentor, and can access online classes from a variety of universities and schools at a discounted rate.
  • It's a unique employee benefit in the gig-economy, where contract workers drive on their own time but lose out on common full-time benefits like matched retirement funds and subsidized healthcare.

Lyft is adding educational discounts and mentorship as a benefit for its contracted drivers through a partnership with Guild Education. The benefits, announced Monday, will roll out nationwide this week.

  • The Houston Texans' quarterback Tom Savage could be seen shaking on the field after taking a tough hit from 49ers defensive end Elvis Dumervil.
  • Savage returned to the field just minutes later despite the hit, but was later removed from the game due to a concussion.
  • Savage's return drew criticism from fans and experts alike.


The quick re-entry of Houston Texans' quarterback Tom Savage after a scary hit against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, led to more questions about the enforcement of the NFL's concussion protocol.

    Ejected Seahawks player tries charging into stands to fight fans after they threw something at him  (12/11)

    • Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson was one of two players ejected for an on-field scuffle with the Jacksonville Jaguars late in the game.
    • As Jefferson left the field, he got into a confrontation with opposing fans and tried climbing into the stands to fight after someone threw an object at him.
    • Jefferson was stopped before he get into the stands.


    The Seattle Seahawks-Jacksonville jaguars game turned ugly late after a scuffle on field and near-scuffle between a player and fans.
